Terms of Service

Last updated: September 27, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Open World Chess ("the game", "we", "us") for your use of the game at openworldchess.com. By playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the game.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission, especially before buying anything.

2. Your account

You can play as a guest or sign in with a supported account (such as Google or TikTok). You're responsible for what happens on your account. Guest empires are temporary and may be removed shortly after you leave. Choose a player name that isn't offensive, misleading or someone else's; we may change or remove names that break these rules.

3. The shared world

Open World Chess is a persistent multiplayer world. Other players, computer-controlled empires and creature camps can attack, capture and defeat your pieces and buildings; that's part of the game, and we don't restore losses from normal play. We may rebalance, change, reset or remove game features, content and world data to keep the game working and fair.

4. Crowns and purchases

5. Fair play and conduct

Don't:

We may warn, limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6. Sharing to TikTok and other services

If you choose to connect TikTok, you can share clips and images of your games to your TikTok account. Nothing is posted without your action and your chosen settings. What you post is also governed by that service's terms. You can disconnect at any time from the game or from your TikTok settings.

7. Our content

The game, its art, sound, code and names belong to us or our licensors. You may share screenshots and videos of your own gameplay, including on social media and streams. You can't copy or resell the game or its assets.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the game running, but it's provided "as is" and "as available", and may be interrupted, changed or discontinued. We may update these terms; if we make significant changes, we'll let players know in the game. Continuing to play means you accept the updated terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of game progress or virtual items, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
